Start date confirmed for works to damaged building in Inverness

The Highland Council can confirm a start date for the works to reinstate the damaged building on Pumpgate Street in Inverness.

Following damage caused by a vehicle collision to the privately owned property in the Merkinch area of Inverness last year, the Council initiated emergency works under Dangerous Buildings procedures. The Council has since issued a second Dangerous Building Notice on both owners to reflect the deterioration of the affected building.

The Council has arranged for Laing Traditional Masonry Group Limited (LTM) to start work on site on Tuesday 5 July and will be working closely with the contractor to keep any disruption to the local community to a minimum.

The start date for these works has been timed to facilitate emergency works needing to be carried out to the main sewer on Lochalsh Road by Scottish Water.

The works are expected to last up until mid November.
