Highland Council winter road condition report for Tuesday 20 December 2022

Road condition reports for Tuesday 20 December 2022 are as follows:

Badenoch and Strathspey

Posted 07:21 - Primary and Secondary routes being treated due to ice and frost. No known overnight issues.

B9007 remains closed and efforts will be made to clear snow and ice to allow road to safely reopen.

Caithness

Posted 08:28 – Roads are wet with positive road surface temperatures. No action required and no other known issues to report.

Inverness

Posted 08:26 – Roads are wet but there are isolated icy patches on some high roads. Treatment is ongoing until road surface temperatures recover.

Lochaber

Posted 08:04 – Roads are wet but treatment being carried out on higher routes. No other known issues to report.

Nairn

Posted 07:20 - Wet roads throughout the area with positive road surface temperatures on lower routes. Hill route being treated this morning. No known overnight issues.

Ross and Cromarty (East)

Posted 08:19 – There are positive road surface temperatures with good salt levels on routes. No further action being taken.

Skye and Raasay

Posted 08:17 – Roads are wet and windy with positive road surface temperatures. No planned action and no known issues reported overnight.

Sutherland

Posted 08:05 - Most of the main roads and inland routes affected with frosty/icy conditions, and being treated as according to policy. No known overnight issues.

As of 09:00 this morning there are no school closures because of bad weather conditions.
