Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport community webinar
Community representatives across Highland came together to hear more about the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport at a webinar on Wednesday 22 March.
Speakers from Port of Inverness, Port of Cromarty Firth, Global Energy Group and Thistle Wind Partners gave presentations followed by a question and answer session which was chaired by Highland Council Leader Raymond Bremner.
There were 107 attendees from community groups across Highland at the webinar. Questions asked were around future skills and jobs, infrastructure and housing development.

Leader of The Highland Council, Raymond Bremner chaired the webinar. He said: “Feedback from the community webinar has been very positive. It was good to see a high level of interest and lots of thoughtful questions. There will be many more opportunities for communities to engage with the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport over the coming months and I would encourage everyone to get involved.”
Steve Chisholm, Director of Operations and Innovation at Global Energy Group said: “We are entering a truly transformational period for the Highlands with literally, a sea of opportunities in front of us. People are keen to understand what having a Green Freeport means and how it can benefit them, so it was really encouraging to see so many on-line and posing really thoughtful questions for us to consider going forward.”

We look forward to more engagement sessions in the future and will aim to keep people across the region informed and work with them as we progress through the set up phase.”
