Around 60 volunteers turned out in force over 4 evenings last week to help litter pick in their local communities.

Inverness West Ward Members Councillors Bill Boyd, Alex Graham and Ryan MacKintosh would like to thank the many local people who joined them on the ‘Meet up and Clean-up’ community litter picking events which took place Monday 22 to Thursday 25 May 2023.

A special thanks also goes to Inverness Shinty Club youth teams who provided 29 helpers between parents and the youth players.

From 6 – 8pm each evening people of all ages came together to make sure their local area is looking tidy. These small actions have made a collective difference to the local communities around Charleston Academy and Muirtown Primary, the Bught Stop and Torvean Avenue areas and around Council Headquarters at Glenurquhart Road.

Litter picking kits (waste bags, litter pickers, and gloves) were supplied and around 60 bags of rubbish were collected and removed by the Council’s waste team.
