Chuir Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd tachartas cànan is cultar na Gàidhlig air dòigh o chionn ghoirid ann an com-pàirteachas le Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh.

Ghabh cleasaichean, luchd-ciùil is sgeulaichean pàirt sna seiseanan cultair Gàidhlig agus stiùir sgoilearan Àrd-Sgoil Phort Rìgh na seiseanan spòrs.

Thuirt Calum Rothach, Cathraiche Comataidh Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd: “Tha na tachartasan cultair Gàidhlig nan deagh eisimpleir de dh’obrachadh com-pàirteach eadar na sgoiltean le Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig agus Sgioba Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd.”

Lean e air adhart: “Bha mi air mo dhòigh glan cluinntinn gun robh sgoilearan àrd-sgoile ann am Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig a’ gabhail pàirt sa phròiseact agus a’ lìbhrigeadh nan cleasan spòrs do chloinn nas òige na iad fhèin ann am Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig. Bu mhath leam a ràdh cuideachd gu bheil Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd taingeil airson na taic ionmhasail a thug Bòrd na Gàidhlig seachad airson an tachartais.”

Thuirt an Ceannard, a’ Bh-uas Flòraidh Guidi: “Bha pròiseact nan Làithean Cultair fìor shoirbheachail agus ion-ghabhalach. Bha cothrom aig sgoilearan san sgoil-àraich agus sa bhun-sgoil pàirt a ghabhail sna seiseanan a bha a’ gabhail a-steach dràma, òrain Ghàidhlig, ealain, spòrs agus sgeulachdan.”

Lean i air adhart: “Tha cultar na Gàidhlig an-còmhnaidh aig cridhe na sgoile againn agus tha tachartasan a leithid nan Làithean Cultair a’ cur rin cuid eòlais fhad ’s a tha iad air am bogadh ann an cànan na Gàidhlig. Bu toil leam taing a thoirt dhan a h-uile duine a chuir taic ris an tachartas, agus do luchd-obrach Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh, airson dèanamh cinnteach gun robh an tachartas foghlamach, fiosrachail is tlachdmhor dha na sgoilearan againn.”

Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh Gaelic Language and Culture Day

The Highland Council in partnership with Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh recently organised a Gaelic language and culture event.

Established actors, musicians and storytellers took part and led the Gaelic cultural sessions. Gaelic Medium Education secondary pupils at Portree High School led the sporting sessions.

Councillor Calum Munro, Chair of The Highland Council Gaelic Committee said: “The Gaelic language cultural events are a great example of partnership working between our Gaelic Medium Education schools and the Highland Council Gaelic Team.”

He continued: “I was delighted to hear that Gaelic medium secondary pupils were engaging with the project by delivering the Gaelic sports activities to their younger Gaelic Medium peers. I would like to acknowledge that The Highland Council are grateful for the financial support received from Bòrd na Gàidhlig for the event.”

Head Teacher, Mrs Flora Guidi said: “The Làithean Cultair project was very successful and inclusive and our pupils in the sgoil-àraich and primary had the opportunity to participate in the sessions which included drama, Gaelic song, art, sports and storytelling.”

Mrs Guidi continued: “Gaelic culture continues to be embedded at the heart of our school and events like the Làithean Cultair enhance their cultural and education experiences while immersed in the Gaelic language. I would like to take the opportunity to thank everybody who organised and supported the event, and the staff at Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh, for making the event educational, informative and enjoyable for our pupils.”
