Businesses in the Highlands have an opportunity to attend a one-off seminar event in Inverness hosted by British Business Bank which will focus on debt finance and bring together several key lenders who traditionally are not active in the area.

The event, which is being supported by The Highland Council and the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, will take place in Inverness Town House on Wednesday 25 October.

Chair of The Highland Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Ken Gowans said “We are delighted to be supporting this British Business Bank event as our Investment Plan for Highlands, supported by UKSPF, identified access to debt finance as an issue for organisations.  A recent survey currently undertaken by the Council of businesses identified interest in events such as this and suggested concepts to support organisations seeking finance.”

“If your business needs an injection of working capital or growth capital, this could well be the event for you.”

The roadshow is a hands-on event tailored for SMEs looking to secure debt financing and will have a strong focus on fostering connections providing a rare opportunity to connect directly with alternative debt lenders from the Central Belt and further afield and to help them better understand their businesses funding options and needs.

There will be a series of short, snappy, and insightful presentations, time for networking with lenders exhibiting at the event.

A number of organisations have already confirmed they will be attending including;  Bibby; Business Loans Scotland; DSL; FSE; HIE; Highland Opportunity; Sallyport; Simply; and Ultimate.

Any businesses interested in attending are asked to sign up here

Cllr Gowans added: “The event is taking place in Inverness, but it is relevant to businesses right across the Highlands and I’m told that businesses from Bettyhill and Lochinver have already signed up.

“Our Business Gateway Highland Team will be available to support businesses on the day and if anyone is unable to attend, they can contact their local advisers at any time to get free support and further information.”
