Pròiseactan a’ toirt taic do dh’fhoghlam Gàidhlig agus coimhearsnachdan
Tha ceithir pròiseactan a bheir taic do Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd ann a bhith a’ lìbhrigeadh a’ Phlana Ghàidhlig aice air maoineachadh fhaighinn bho Mhaoin nam Planaichean Gàidhlig aig Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
Thuirt Cathraiche Comataidh Gàidhlig Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd, an Comhairliche Calum Rothach: “Tha sinn a’ cur fàilte chridheil air a’ mhaoineachadh seo bho Bhòrd na Gàidhlig a chuidicheas leasachadh na Gàidhlig anns a’ Ghàidhealtachd tro bhith a’ cur taic ri buileachadh Plana Gàidhlig na Comhairle agus gealltanasan a’ phrògraim ‘Ar Gàidhealtachd Ri Teachd’ a thaobh na Gàidhlig.
“Ged a bhios a’ mhòr-chuid de na pròiseactan cudromach seo buannachdail dhan Ghàidhealtachd air fad, mar chomhairliche ionadail airson an Eilein Sgitheanaich agus Ratharsair, tha mi gu h-àraid toilichte faicinn gun robh iarrtasan nam pròiseactan Sgitheanach soirbheachail.”
Chaidh fiosrachadh a thoirt an-diugh do bhuill Comataidh Gàidhlig na Comhairle a thaobh nan iarrtasan soirbheachail a chuir Sgioba na Gàidhlig a-steach. Bheir iad seo taic do Chom-pàirteachas Ro-innleachdail Breith gu Trì, pròiseact Gàidhlig airson Inbhich agus pròiseact Clann, Coimhearsnachd Còmhla.
Tha pròiseact Com-pàirteachas Ro-innleachdail Breith gu Trì ag amas air taic a thoirt dhan roinn ro-sgoile le bhith a’ fastadh luchd-obrach taice phàistean Gàidhlig airson cuideachadh gus an àireamh chloinne a tha a’ dol air adhart gu Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig (FtG) ann an sgoiltean na Gàidhealtachd a chumail suas.
Tha am pròiseact Gàidhlig airson Inbhich ag amas air cothroman ionnsachaidh a thoirt do dh’inbhich ann an sgìrean Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd far a bheil FtG. Ann a bhith a’ toirt taic do phàrantan is do dhaoine eile ann an sgìrean-sgoile FtG thathar a’ togail bun-stèidh airson na Gàidhlig sna coimhearsnachdan seo.
Bidh pròiseact a tha ag amas air iomairtean coimhearsnachd agus òigridh ann an Dùn Bheagan agus Port Rìgh a’ toirt taic do dh’fhàs FtG agus a’ togail ìomhaigh na Gàidhlig taobh a-staigh nan coimhearsnachdan Sgitheanach seo. Bidh cothrom aig daoine òga a’ Ghàidhlig a chleachdadh tro chleasan neo-churraicealach sa choimhearsnachd aca fhèin. Thèid dà thachartas cultarach Gàidhlig a chumail ann am Port Rìgh agus Dùn Bheagan airson taic a chur ri amasan a’ phròiseict de bhith a’ togail ìomhaigh na Gàidhlig agus FtG anns na coimhearsnachdan.
Chaidh maoineachadh a thoirt seachad bho Bhòrd na Gàidhlig an t-seachdain seo airson ceathramh pròiseact a tha ag amas air barrachd Gàidhlig a thoirt an lùib làrach-lìn agus meadhanan sòisealta na Comhairle, cùrsaichean mu Ghàidhlig san àite-obrach a lìbhrigeadh, agus eadar-theangachadh mar-aon a thoirt seachad aig coinneamhan Chomhairle na Gàidhealtachd.
Projects supporting Gaelic Education and communities
Four projects that will support The Highland Council’s delivery of its Gaelic Language Plan have been successful in receiving Gaelic Plans Funding from Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
Chair of the Council’s Gaelic Committee, Cllr Calum Munro said: “This funding from Bòrd na Gàidhlig is extremely welcome and will help Gaelic development in Highland by supporting the implementation of the Council’s Gaelic Language Plan and ‘Our Future Highland’ Programme commitment to promote the Gaelic language.
“While most of these important projects will have Highland-wide benefits, as a local Skye and Raasay Councillor I am particularly pleased to see that the projects for Skye were successful in their bids.”
Members of the Council’s Gaelic committee were today updated on the four successful bids made by the Council’s Gaelic Team that will support the: Birth to Three Strategic Partnership; the Gaelic For Adults Project and Clann, Coimhearsnachd Còmhla Project.
The Gaelic Birth to Three Strategic Partnership project aims to support the pre-school sector by employing Gaelic Toddler Support Workers to help sustain the number of children continuing into Gaelic Medium Education in Highland schools.
Providing Gaelic learning opportunities for adults in Highland Council areas where Gaelic Medium Education (GME) is available at schools is the objective of the Gaelic For Adults Project. Supporting parents and others in GME catchments provides a foundation for the Gaelic language in those communities.
A project focussing on Gaelic community and youth initiatives in Dunvegan and Portree will support the growth of GME and raise the profile of Gaelic within these Skye Communities. Young people attending extra-curricular activities will have the opportunity to use Gaelic in their own community. Two Gaelic cultural events will be held in Portree and Dunvegan to support the project’s aims of raising the profile of GME and the Gaelic language in the communities.
A fourth project aimed at improving the presence of Gaelic on the Council’s website and social media; providing Gaelic in the work-place courses; and provision of simultaneous translation at The Highland Council meetings was awarded funding by Bòrd na Gàidhlig this week.
