Interim Community Council Elections - 3 Community Councils to hold postal ballots to elect Community Councillors

Following the withdrawal period for candidates, The Highland Council can now confirm that postal ballots will be held to decide the membership of the following 3 Highland Community Councils.

• Ballachulish
• Creich
• Sleat

Ballot papers with the candidate statements will be posted out to the eligible voters of these communities on Tuesday 20 February 2024. The completed ballots must be returned by no later than 12noon on Tuesday 19 March 2024.

The counting of the votes will be broadcast live by The Highland Council on Tuesday 19 March 2024 from 12 noon onwards. 

Community Councillors shall be elected on a simple majority basis.  The successful candidates will be those with the highest number of votes, with the number of successful Candidates equalling the number of vacancies.
