Award Ceremony held in Aviemore For Young Achievers

Paul Jarvis, Youth Development Officer with The Highland Council, and Hannah Mitchell, Programme Director of IRL Education CIC, hosted an awards ceremony at the Hub in Aviemore on July 31st, recognising the outstanding achievements of local youth with the Dynamic Youth Awards, SQA Employability and First Aid Qualifications along with other achievements.

Congratulations to Darren Frew, Lewis Mason, Saoirse Derry, Ella Brimblecombe, Scarlett Young, Reuban O’Kane, Ruari Stronach, Finn Blow, for earning their awards as they celebrate the significant contributions of young people to their communities through various projects and initiatives.

Participants were involved in wide range of activities including producing radio shows, organising activities for local primary schools, completing and passing SQA Employability Qualification, First Aid at Work qualification along with others. 

The dedication and hard work of these young individuals have positively impacted their communities while also helping them develop valuable skills and confidence. Their efforts demonstrate the significant contributions young people can make through commitment and initiative.

Paul and Hannah would like to thank all the participants for their hard work and dedication. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Paul Jarvis Youth Development Officer wished highlighted that there is currently an opportunity/pathway for any interested young people to stand as a candidate for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch at the next  Scottish Youth Parliament.  Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament are elected every two years and become the voice of Scotland’s Young People.  The Youth Parliament was established June 30, 1999, making it older than the Scottish Parliament.
