Funding applications over £10,000 approved by City Committee

Three projects have been awarded funding support of over £10,000 each following a decision taken today (Monday 18 August) at The Highland Council’s City of Inverness Area Committee.

The following grants have been awarded:

  • £17,950 to Inverness BID for their Best Foot Forward project that will create improvements designed to make Inverness City Centre cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for residents, visitors, and businesses alike. This funding will come from the City of Inverness and Area’s allocation of Community Regeneration Fund
  • £20,000 to Visit Inverness Loch Ness for the promotion of business tourism opportunities through their Visit Inverness and Loch Ness project from the Inverness Common Good Fund.
     
  • £12,000 and £14,350 from the Inverness Common Good Fund for 2 separate applications in support of the 70th Anniversary Town Twinning celebrations between the city and Augsburg that will take place in 2026 and a reciprocal Youth Exchange Visit.

City Leader, Cllr Ian Brown said: “Inverness Common Good Fund and the Community Regeneration Fund continues to support a wide array of projects that are making a significant difference to the lives of people living in and visiting our communities. I wish all of these projects the very best as they move forward with their plans.”

The committee also agreed the transfer of £0.030m from Other Grants to Poverty and Inequality.
