Highland public encouraged to get on board for this September’s Catch the Bus Month
The Highland Council is proud to be supporting Catch the Bus Month 2025 run by Bus Users UK.
Buses boost the economy, reduce congestion and pollution, and improve our health and wellbeing. Around 10 million journeys are made by bus every day yet Government figures show they account for just 2% of transport emissions compared to 60% from cars and taxis.
Chair of the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Councillor Ken Gowans said: “Highland Council are pleased with the development of our in-house bus team, the growth of our network is pleasing and supports of communities. Highland Council are keen to encourage mass travel through out the Highlands and being involved in catch a bus month is a great initiative across Scotland promoting bus use.”
To celebrate these amazing, sustainable and accessible services, during the month of September the Council will be offering a 10-journey ticket anywhere in the area their in-house buses operate for a maximum price of £20.
