Focus on the benefits of bus travel during Catch the Bus Month 2025
Representatives from Bus Users UK will be in Inverness on Monday (8 September) to promote the many benefits of using buses including - boosting the economy, reducing congestion and pollution, and improving health and wellbeing.
The event is part of their Catch the Bus Month 2025 initiative to promote bus use which The Highland Council is supporting.
Chair of the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Councillor Ken Gowans said: “We are delighted to be supporting Catch A Bus Month as it’s a great way to highlight the very important role buses play in connecting our communities, reducing traffic and emissions, and keeping life moving. Travelling by bus also gives you time to read, unwind, avoid stressful commutes and parking. I encourage everyone to “get on board” and come along on Monday to tour the buses and speak to the representatives.”
Joining Bus Users UK in Inverness will be representatives from the council’s In-House bus team, D&E coaches, Stagecoach and CityLink to provide people a chance to find out more about the many benefits of bus travel and the services available to them.
The team will be based at Inverness bus station from 9am. At 11am they will move to the High Street outside Marks and Spencer’s where 3 buses will be parked up for the public to visit. The buses and representatives, all but Stagecoach, will be there until 3pm.
Throughout September the Council is offering a 10-journey ticket anywhere in the area their in-house buses operate for a maximum price of £20.
Passengers can opt to use online ticket purchases for all of the In-house bus service through the MyTrip app
