Next Nairn Common Good Engagement Group set for February 2026
The next Nairn Common Good Engagement Group is due to be held on Wednesday, 4 February 2026 and items for the agenda are now being invited.
When members of the Nairnshire Area Committee met in August 2025, it was agreed that the business of this engagement group meeting would be led by community interest in the Common Good within the Terms of Reference set out in the committee report: https://www.highland.gov.uk/meetings/meeting/5217/nairnshire_committee (Item 10).
Any properly constituted community group with an interest in Nairn’s Common Good can submit an item for consideration by the members. The discussion at the engagement group will inform the elected members at the next Area Committee.
The form for submission of proposed agenda items can be accessed here: https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=brXwiRZt6E-duhdvqUD3yd-7smwszNVGu3HhlDFA7bdUNTcxOU9EWUlSN0dJQzNTUE9BNUtHMUg5Qi4u&route=shorturl
Councillor Michael Green, Chair of the Nairnshire Area Committee, commented: “The first meeting of the Nairnshire Common Good Fund Engagement Group took place back in early 2024 and we’ve held a number of positive and collaborative meetings in the time since then.”
“I hope that 2026 continues on this positive trajectory, enabling local community stakeholders to engage with officers involved in the administration of the Nairn Common Good Fund. It’s ultimately about working together on issues impacting the future of this important asset and particularly focusing on bringing benefit to the people of Nairnshire.”
“I would encourage constituted community groups to take some time to consider if there are any items of business they wish to put forward for the agenda of February’s engagement group meeting. Please ensure that these reach us through the online form by the deadline of 28 January.”
