Disruption at Cauldeen Primary School

Overnight flooding has caused significant damage to Cauldeen Primary School, Inverness.

As a result, parents of pupils in Primaries 4, 5, 6 and 7 are advised that their children should remain off school until Thursday 21 August.

It is hoped that the classroom accommodation of nursery pupils and those of pupils in Primary 1, 2 and 3 can be repaired in time to allow a return to school on Tuesday 19 August, when the new school session begins.

Communications at the school are currently down and any parent seeking further information should contact the area education office on 01463 663807.

George Glass, Head Teacher, said: “Overnight rain has resulted in drainage problems within parts of the school.  We can do nothing until the areas affected dry out.  We would hope to have the infant accommodation operational by Tuesday, when the new session opens but the accommodation for the senior pupils will require more attention and Thursday is the earliest we can see a return of the P 4, 5, 6 and 7.”
