Pupils Ceilidh CD To Raise Funds For Charity

The musical talents of pupils from Glenurquhart Primary school are set to raise funds for charity thanks to the recording of a Ceilidh CD which was launched today (Tuesday 26 February).

The Primary 3/4 and 4/5 pupils have performed and recorded a selection of traditional Scottish songs and also a Gaelic song onto the CDs which are now on sale at the community library for £5.  Proceeds from the sale of the CD will benefit the Macmillan Nurses cancer charity and the Highland Heart Nurse appeal.

Head teacher Kirsteen MacConnell said:  "The CD was produced as part of an enterprise project at the school.  The children were singing songs and enjoying it so much that they came up with the idea of recording them.  They are very excited ti see the CD in a box with a cover that they designed."

The young musicians performed two of the tracks during a launch of the CD at the community library earlier today to an appreciative audience.
