Rangers rise with dawn chorus

Early risers are invited to get some spring into their step and join The Highland Council's countryside rangers on a dawn guided walk on Saturday 15th March.

At 6am, the Inverness Ranger will be up with the Lark on a free "Dawn Guided Walk" covering a 3km/2miles route. The walk will last until approximately 8am and the walk will be in the Farr, Inverness area.

During the walk the Ranger will point out some of the creatures that are active at sunrise and participants will be able to appreciate the countryside at this special time of the day.

Katy Martin, the Senior Ranger for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey said: "Early morning is a magical time of day when you can see and hear the countryside wake up around you. This gentle walk in a lovely part of Strathnairn, is really worth the early start. There will be tea and coffee on hand to revive people.”

This Dawn guided walk is part of a range of activities and events organised by Highland Council’s Planning and Development Service.

There Highland Council Rangers are grant aided by Scottish Natural Heritage. The role of Countryside Rangers is to promote public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and to conserve wildlife and habitats.
