Opportunities in the Baltics

Businesses in Inverness will have the chance to learn more about the untapped business opportunities that exist in the Baltic States.  A breakfast seminar, being organised by Cormack Consultancy Baltic (CCB) and sponsored by Enterprise Europe Scotland, will take place in The Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness on Tuesday 8th September starting at 7.45 am.

Charles Cormack, the founder of CCB, who has over 8 years’ experience in helping businesses enter into the Baltic market, commenting ahead of the breakfast, said:

“Despite the current economic difficulties, both Latvia and Lithuania are very much open for business, and we have had a number of clients who have secured large contracts over the past few months.  I am keen to highlight these opportunities to companies in and around Inverness.

“We will have speakers from the Latvian and Lithuanian Development Agencies outlining the opportunities for Scottish companies in these markets.  The Baltic States offer an excellent first export market and there is a substantial amount of EU funding currently available in both Latvia and Lithuania for the development of business infrastructure, and also to assist companies who wish to develop or licence technologies. There is also funding available to support Research and Development work in a range of areas.

“Their strategic location make them an excellent base  for companies wanting to explore eastern and central Europe, as well as Russia.  These countries still need to invest in infrastructure and skills and have access to EU funding for the next few years.  I look forward to meeting business people in Inverness, and discussing with them the exciting opportunities to grow their businesses in these markets.“
