New Roads and Community Works Manager

Richard Evans has taken up his new post of The Highland Council’s new Area Roads and Community Works Manager for Inverness Nairn and Badenoch and Strathspey.

Mr Evans, formerly Roads and Community Works Manager with the Council, replaces Iain Wallace, who retired last month.

Based at the Council’s Diriebught Road Depot, Inverness, Mr Evans is in charge of a roads and community works team, whose responsibilities include winter and routine maintenance of the Council’s network of roads and pathways in the area as well as grounds, public conveniences, burials and street cleaning.

He has worked for the council for 30 years, serving in Skye and Dingwall before moving to Council headquarters, Inverness some 25 years ago.  Since then he has worked in and managed the specialist IT section for Roads and Transport and subsequently has worked in a policy and strategy role for the last 13 years.
