Lower Foyers - Masonry Arch Bridge

For reasons of public safety, the masonry arch bridge at Lower Foyers, by Loch Ness,  has been closed to pedestrians.  An engineer's inspection has given The Highland Council serious and immediate concerns about the structural integrity of the bridge. This 'Grade B' listed bridge was closed to vehicular traffic some time ago, and pedestrian access was only made possible by a temporary scaffold footway supported across the remains of the structure. Further investigations are being carried out.
