Nairn pupils have fundraising for Malawi visit in the bag

A Malawian baby elephant meets a Scottish Highland cow on bags Nairn Academy’s Dreams and Teams Sports Leaders group are selling to raise money for their visit to their link school in Lilongwe in June 2010.

Made in natural calico with the animal logo printed in black the long handled bag costs £4. This will make and excellent stocking filler for all who support Scotland’s friendship with Malawi.

The design was gifted by local Nairn artist Celia Laidlaw from an idea developed by the young leaders. The company that supplies Nairn Academy’s school uniforms Embroidery Designs have sponsored the project allowing 100% profit to go towards the fundraising.

Anyone wishing to purchase a bag should contact Ailsa Baird and Jamie McDonald at Nairn Academy, Duncan Drive, Nairn IV12 4RD.  Cheques should be made payable to Nairn Academy and include a £1.00 charge for postage and packing per bag. Or email Elizabeth McDonald Active Schools Coordinator at Elizabeth.mcdonald@highland.gov.uk
