Temporary Road Closures in the City

On Sunday (29 November) the Highland Santa Six Fun Run takes place so some of the city roads will be temporarily closed to all traffic.

From 12.15pm until 3pm the following roads will be affected:

• Bught Road will be closed from the access to Whim Park to its junction with Bught Avenue.  It will also be closed from its junction with Bught Avenue to its con-junction with Ness Walk Upper.

• Ness Walk Upper will be closed at its junction with Bught Road to its junction with Ballifeary Lane and also its junction with Bishop’s Road.

• Castle Road will be closed to northbound traffic only between its junction with Haugh Road and its junction with Bridge Street.  Access for southbound traffic will run as normal.

• Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road will be closed to through traffic between the junction with Castle Road and its junction with Island Bank Road.  Access to local properties will be maintained from the junction with Castle Road.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be available and will be sign-posted.

From Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd December temporary traffic lights will be in place along part of Southside Road to allow for the resetting of ironwork within the carriageway and other associated works.

From 9.30am until 3pm on both Tuesday (1st) and Wednesday (2nd) there will be a single lane closure of Southside Road between its junction with Mayfield Road and its junction with Old Edinburgh Road.  Either lane may be closed at any one time but vehicle access for city centre bound traffic will be maintained at all times.

An alternative route for eastbound traffic will be available using Mayfield Road, part of Southside Road, Culduthel Road and Old Edinburgh Road.
