Dornoch Burghfield Campus Hosts Tourism Ward Forum

The next East Sutherland and Edderton Ward Forum will be held on Monday 5 October at 7.30pm in the new North Highland College campus at the Burghfield, Dornoch. The theme of the forum is Tourism, so it is appropriate for it to be hosted by the new training hotel which has been converted from the former Burghfield Hotel. The forum will be addressed by Scott Armstrong, Regional Director Visit Scotland and Colin Simpson, The Highland Council’s Tourism Coordinator. Russell Rekhy from North Highland College will also give the forum a brief introduction into the courses and training facilities available at the Burghfield campus.

Councillor Jim McGillivray who will be chairing the Forum said: “North Highland College investment in the Burghfield has been considerable, and I am sure that it will be a real asset to Dornoch and to the Highlands. How appropriate that the College should host a Ward Forum into Tourism at the Burghfield Campus. I hope we will get a good turn-out from the local tourist operators andI  look forward to hearing about how the summer has been for operators and how Visit Scotland and the Council can support the industry next year and beyond.”

The forum is open to anyone who would like to come along and there will be an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions on tourism or any other issues they wish to raise.
