The FIM Trial World Championship is the most important and the best motorcycle trial competition series on the international calendar.  It is the first year since 1992 that Scotland has hosted a stage of this prestigious World Championship series; and will see seven other Grand Prix events being hosted in Spain, Portugal, Japan, France, San Marino, Italy and the Czech Republic.

As a major focus for both country and rider sixty of the World's best riders from fifteen countries around the globe will descend on the Scottish Highlands for two days of awesome and hotly contested competition for valuable points towards the 2010 World Pro (male only at Fort William), World Junior (male and female) and World Youth (male and female) titles.

Yorkshireman Dougie Lampkin (2009 world number 6), who has dominated the modern era of the sport with twelve World Championship titles to his name, will be leading the UK charge and looking for that all important win on home soil.

Dougie Lampkin - Beta, said: 'This is definitely the biggest event for me this year. Fort William is the home of trials thanks to the Scottish Six Days Trial, and has some of the best trials terrain on the planet in the surrounding area. Nevis Range is an incredible venue for this event and confirms why the region is regarded as the Outdoor Capital of the UK. It would be a great stage for me to win my 100th GP, especially in front of my home fans.'

Top international riders competing to stand on top of the Fort William podium include Toni Bou (current and three times World Champion and 2010 Indoor World Champion) and Adam Raga (2009 world number 2 and two times World Champion), both from Spain, together with Takahisa Fujinami  (2009 world number 3 and 2004 World Champion) from Japan.

Over 8,000 spectators are expected to attend the biggest and most spectacular display of trials riding ever seen on British soil.  The main competition days will be Saturday and Sunday with Friday's timetable offering a mixture of unique and exclusive activities including autograph and meet and greet sessions with the world's top riders, official practice and 'Kickstart - The Return'. Friday will also be a great day to plan the best viewing points ready for the exciting competition over the weekend.
