Service Centre remains open over festive holiday period

In light of the persistent wintry weather, The Highland Council is opening its Service Centre, which handles all telephony enquiries,  over the festive period.

The Centre will operate between 9am – 4pm on Christmas Eve; 9am – 5pm Monday 27 December – Thursday 30 December; 9am – 4pm on Friday 31 December; and 9am – 5 pm on Monday 3 January, next year. The exceptions will be Christmas Day and Boxing Day as well as 1 and 2 January, next year

From Tuesday 4 January, normal working hours will resume ie 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday and 9am – noon on a Saturday.

The out of hours emergency numbers operated by the Council for roads and lighting and social work is 0845 769 7284 and for housing it is 0845 700 2005.

Council administration offices and Services Points will be closed at 4 pm on Thursday 23 December until Tuesday 4 January.

Schools break up on Thursday 23 December and resume on Monday 10 January.

Because Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on a Saturday, there will be no change to routine refuse collections.  With the exception of 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January, recycling centres will be open as normal.  The public should note that there will be no bulky or brown bin uplifts between 27 December and 7 January.
