Public invited to have their say on improvements to Beauly Square

Following on from the Consultation held in Beauly Square in September last year, the Planning and Development Service of The Highland Council will be holding another consultation with the local community on Thursday 25th February.

In September members of the public were invited to look at drawings designed to generate discussion and to complete and return survey forms.  The Planning & Development Service has used the opinions gathered to focus on key areas that can help to solve problems in the Square within the available budget.  Members of the Public are invited to come along to the consultation in the Priory Hotel to help identify priorities for action.

Anne Cowling, Landscape Officer said:  “We listened hard to what people in Beauly had to say during the last event and in their survey returns, and we hope that by focusing our attention and budget on the key areas that local people drew to our attention, we will be able to bring about some real improvements to the benefit or residents, traders and visitors alike.  We hope that people will continue to be part of the process and to keep us on track by taking a few minutes to come to this event.  We will be presenting a display of proposals for the key areas and asking people to tell us if they are in favour of these solutions.”

Local Councillor Helen Carmichael said:  “We promised the community they would have an opportunity to review their responses to the initial consultation on the Square so I urge everyone to come along and participate in the discussion and review the options.”

The Consultation will take place in the Priory Hotel on the 25th February from 2.00pm to 4.30pm and 5.30pm to 8.00pm.
