Pupils rally for Highland Celtic Games Festival

Sixty children from the Ardnamurchan Primary school cluster recently came together for a Highland Celtic Games Festival at Ardnamurchan High School / Sunart Centre on 9 March.

The aim of the day was to give the children an opportunity to experience three activities which have strong routes in the sporting traditions of the Highlands.

The children were given expert tuition from Ronald Ross, Shinty Development Officer; Rod Houston Manager of Highland Football Academy; and John Ross Level 1 PGA golf coach from Fort William golf club.

Dot Lynas, Highland Council’s Active Schools Coordinator said: “The weather was lovely and sunny and the feedback from the young people involved was great. They all seemed to have had a really good day. Thanks to everyone who participated and the teachers and school staff who all helped and joined in so enthusiastically.”
