Volunteers wanted for Ardersier Beach clean

The seashore at Ardersier is strewn with paper and plastic after the winter storms so The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are organising a beach clean day to clear things up before summer arrives.

John Orr, Countryside ranger for Inverness East and Nairn said, “We always seem to have a problem with litter along this shoreline which has been blown in from the sea over the winter been left high and dry on the strandline. Some of it probably originated in Inverness and has made its way up the Firth to here.  This is a chance for people to help to improve the look of there local area by giving up a little of their time to help us out.”

Litter pickers and bags will be provided but please bring your own gloves.

Running on Sunday from 2pm until 5pm anyone wishing to help should meet up at the Ardersier picnic site between Ardersier & Fort George (grid ref. NH 779 558).  All children should be accompanied by an adult.
