Closure of Infirmary Bridge, Inverness

Essential maintenance work is to be carried out on the Infirmary Footbridge in Inverness, which will require closure of the bridge from Monday 29 November until Friday 10 December. Alternative routes available are across the Ness Bridge, or over the bridges through the Ness Islands.

Urgent repairs must be carried out to address a deterioration of the concrete abutments at both ends of the bridge.  There is also a need to remove and refurbish steel ties at each abutment and, for reasons of public safety, the bridge must be closed while these structural members are not in place.

The Contractor is McGregor Construction (Highlands) Ltd.
