Whiteness Head walk with council ranger

Highland Council Countryside Ranger John Orr is leading a guided walk to Whiteness Head, Ardersier on Sunday 20th August, 11am – 3pm.

The 5 mile/8km walk, winds it way through farmland, salt marsh and gravel ridges to the remote spit which juts out into the Moray Firth.

Ranger John Orr said: “This will be the third year in succession we’ve run this walk and every year’s been different. There’s a good chance of seeing a variety of wildlife including seals hauling out opposite the spit and lots of birdlife including terns, godwits and other coastal species.”

The walk takes place on Sunday 20th August from 11am – 3pm. Meet at Hilton of Denies farm, off the B9092 – Ardersier to Nairn road. Grid reference   NH 846563. This guided walk is part of a programme of events organised by the Countryside Rangers in Highland Council’s Planning and Development Service.
