ASDA A9/B9006 works enter final phase

Issued by ASDA

ASDA has released further details regarding the third and final phase of work to the A9/B9006 slip road, which is due to commence on 7th January 2012 (weather permitting).

The final phase of work, which will run until 22nd January 2012, will see the slip road from the A9 to the B9006 closed to public traffic for approximately 2 weeks.

A complete closure is the most effective way of keeping disruption to a minimum.  The alternative routes will be a quicker and less disruptive option for road users than the delays that would occur by trying to do the work while maintaining live traffic. Closing the road will mean the works can be can be carried out quickly and without endangering the public or the work force.

Alternative routes to access and exit the A9 will be clearly signposted. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the Milton of Leys junction where traffic will be directed down the old A9 past the Drummossie hotel to the B9006 Inverness – Culloden Road. Traffic joining the A9 to head south can use the same routes but in the opposite direction.

Notes to Editors:

1.    The operations during phase 3 are as follows:

2.    The works within this period will be phased in such a way that access/egress to the local properties and emergency services will be maintained at all times.

3.    Work will take place during the hours of 7am – 7pm
