City Rotary Club collects for Homeless Centre

Representatives from the Culloden Rotary Club have handed over a generous donation of groceries to the city’s Homeless Centre after members collected from customers at the local Morrison’s supermarket.

Several club members, including President Gavin Grant took part.  He said:  “We were delighted with the response from the public and are just glad we could help to give a better Christmas to some of the homeless in Inverness"

The Homeless Day Centre at Waterloo Place works with homeless people who may need practical help or advice on issues including housing, health and personal support.  Staff are also available to help anyone who is looking to access other services.

Iver Forsyth, The Highland Council’s Principal Housing Officer with the Homelessness Assessment Team said: “We would like to thank all the Rotary club members who arranged to collect the donations and also thank all the shoppers who were generous enough to hand items over when doing their supermarket shop.  This is a busy time of year for us and all the items we have been given will go to help the people that need this support.”
