Contract awarded for fifth phase of Armadale-Broadford road.

The Highland Council has agreed to award a contract valued at £1,627,517 to R. J. McLeod Ltd. to build the fifth and penultimate phase of the A851 Armadale – Broadford road on Sleat, Isle of Skye.

The works involve the construction of 3.5 kilometres of carriageway between Duisdale and Duisdalemore.

The final phase of construction, between Teangue and Kilbeg,  will then complete two-lane carriageway between Armadale and Broadford. The total cost involved will be an estimated £15 million.

Like the previous four phases of the road works, this contract has attracted European Funding.
