Invergordon traffic focus

The Highland Council is advising the general public that the Northern Constabulary’s traffic warden will be working in partnership with the Council to implement the existing Road Traffic Order in Invergordon.

The required signage and road markings are in place, allowing Police to fully enforce the Order from Castle Road, along the west part of the High Street including adjoining streets. Initially police and the traffic warden will give advice and assistance to motorists on the Traffic Order; however after a 2 week settling in period or to repeat offenders, enforcement action will be taken and fixed penalties issues if the Order is not being observed.

The four elected Cromarty Firth Ward Members welcomed the move saying@ “We are very pleased that the local traffic warden will be coming out to Invergordon on a very regular basis in the future. We would ask residents and visitors to park responsibly and in accordance with the traffic signs – real success would be a situation where everyone parks correctly so that no fixed penalty notices are required.”

Consultation on a new Road Traffic Order for the east end of the High Street and adjoining streets will be issued shortly and comments from the public will be sought.
