Housing and sustaining Caol Community Centre are the main items on agenda’s for February Ward Forum meetings

Attendees at the forthcoming Lochaber South (Ward 22 Fort William and Ardnamurchan) on Monday 7th February will have the opportunity to discuss new Housing initiatives, receive information on developments and hear about the challenges facing the Social Housing sector in Lochaber.

Tracey Urry, Housing and Property Manager for the Highland Council’s Ross, Skye and Lochaber Area and Blair Allan, Chief Executive for Lochaber Housing Association will be on hand to answer any questions communities may have on this subject. 

The following evening the North (Ward 12 Caol & Mallaig) Forum meeting will focus on Caol community centre.  Representatives from Social Work services will be present to explain the position regarding the lunch club held there.  The Forum will then use the evening to identify any opportunities with the community that can be developed to sustain the centre.

Both Forums will also receive a community safety update and hear about new waste management arrangements.
 
The Forum for Ward 22 will take place on Monday 7th February 6.30pm, in the Sunart Centre, Strontian, and Ward 12 will meet the following day on Tuesday 8th February in Caol Community centre at 7.30pm.
