Fun-filled football competition for Highland pupils
A Highland-wide fun fours football competition for Gaelic Medium Primary pupils starts this week in Inverness. Around 180 primary 4-7 pupils from 15 schools throughout the Highlands will be taking part in Fèis Spòrs. A total of 34 teams will take part in the local qualifying matches culminating in a cup final at Inverness.
Inverness pupils are taking part in qualifying rounds for the Gaelic fun fours football competition which starts tomorrow (Thursday 27 January) at Millburn Academy, Inverness.
Lochaber pupils will be taking part in local qualifying competitions in Fort William at the Nevis Centre on the 31st.
Dingwall qualifiers take place on 3 February at Highland Football Academy and the last qualifiers take place on the Isle of Skye on 23 February at Portree High School.
All participants will receive a Gaelic engraved medal. The qualifying teams will go to Inverness on 9 March where the finals will take place at Inverness Leisure, Bught Park, Inverness. A fun-filled final will be assured for all the finalists as they will receive lunch provided and a swim at the Inverness Leisure swimming pool. The winning team will be presented with an engraved Gaelic Football cup.
The two finalist teams will go onto Badaguish centre on 18 and 19 March as part of their prize for getting to the final; outdoor pursuits and fun activities will be offered to them over the weekend.
