Temporary closure of Kiltearn footbridge

The Kiltearn footbridge in Evanton, which provides access to a popular local path network, will be closed for three weeks from Monday 1 August while essential upgrading is carried out.

The Highland Council has appointed Pat Munro (Alness) Ltd to carry out the £32,526 upgrade, which is essential to secure the long term future of the bridge.

The Council is aware that public usage of the bridge is heavier during the summer months, but the timing of these works has been significantly restricted due to the international significance of the Cromarty Firth for both breeding and wintering birds.

For their own safety, members of the public are requested to heed signs and the instructions of the contractor on site.
