Lochaber primaries golf competition

This week saw the first Lochaber Primary Schools Golf Competition, organised by Fort William Golf Club with support from Highland Council’s Active Schools Programme.

With Fort William, Spean Bridge and Dragon’s Tooth golf clubs all running successful junior training programmes, leading on from school based lessons delivered by Active Schools, many children were ready for the challenge of competition. 

Bridget Thomas, Highland Council’s Active Schools Coordinator for Fort William said: “On a thankfully sunny Monday evening, 24 children took part from 7 primary schools, Banavie, Roy Bridge, Spean Bridge, Lochyside, Inverlochy, Ballachulish and Caol.
Many thanks to John Ross for organising the event and to the large number of Lochaber High School pupils who helped officiate.”
