Council confirms work will start on a new roof for Dingwall Leisure Centre

The Chairman of the Education, Culture and Sport Committee, Councillor Bill Fernie has confirmed that plans are already underway to replace the roof at Dingwall Leisure Centre.

He said:  “Our Property team have drawn up a programme of works and as planning permission will be required, they will be working closely with our planners over the design and timetabling of the work.

“I have advised the local members that the Council is committed to the project and arrangements are already in hand.  The first stage is to work up a design for the new roof and then to invite tenders. Once more details of the project are known, we will be able to give a start and completion date.  Until then I would like to remind customers that only the pool is closed and the rest of the Leisure Centre is fully operational.”

Classes and activities at the Leisure Centre are running as normal and details of summer activity events can be found by visiting www.highlandeventsandfestivals.com or contacting the Leisure Centre on 01349 864226.
