Searching for the Gruffalo in city woods

“A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark woods……”
Tomorrow (Friday 13 April) children are invited to come and join mouse on his stroll following a fun woodland trail in Culloden Woods that will give them the chance to meet woodland animals, complete fun tasks and search for the Gruffalo.

John Orr, Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger in Inverness East & Nairn said: “The Gruffalo is the famous and fantastic children’s book that looks at the animals that live in our woods, their houses and what they eat.  This fun event for under 8s will explore this beautiful wooded avenue and learn a little about who lives there.”

This event, which runs from 2pm to 3.30pm, is most suitable for families with children under the age of eight. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The avenue is suitable for prams and buggies.

Anyone wanting to come along should meet up at the Doocot car park off Barn Church Road, Culloden at 2.00pm. NH 729464. Free for accompanying adults, children £3. For more information please call The Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers on 01463 710786.
