Advance warning to drivers about temporary road closure

Drivers are being advised that the C1063 Invergordon – Tomich Junction road will be temporarily closed to all traffic from 10am to 12 noon on Wednesday 7th March.

The closure is necessary to allow a wide, tall and heavy load to be transported from Invergordon Industrial Estate to the port of Invergordon via Tomich and the A9 to Alness and then via the B817 Shore Road from Alness to Invergordon.  This route has been chosen as the most suitable for the heavy load.

On the 7th March between 10am and 12 noon the vehicle will have to stop on the Invergordon – Tomich Road to await disconnection and reconnection of overhead power lines by SSE. This will be done in stages and there will be no disruption to power for customers. A police escort will accompany the vehicle throughout the journey.

An alternative route into Invergordon from the A9 Dalmore Junction at Alness via the B817 Shore Road will be available and should be used during the two hours when the C1063 road is closed.
