The Highland Council bonfire and fireworks display on 5 November 2012 will be held again this year at Bught Park Inverness.

The show starts at 7pm with entertainment from the City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band, The Falcon Drummers, Mascot Madness and Fly Agaric.

At 7.15pm Provost Alex Graham will judge the Inverness Primary School Guy Making Competition before lighting the bonfire at 7.30pm.

This year's fireworks display will be staged by the award winning Fireworx Scotland Display Team and will start at around 7.50pm.

Participants are asked to note that sparklers cannot be used at Bught Park as it takes place on sports fields where football or shinty players could be injured by discarded strips of wire. The Council asks that sparklers are enjoyed away from the playing fields.

Motorists are asked to note that only disabled parking will be available on the night and the entrance to the disabled car park is via the rear of the main grandstand.

There will be road closures in operation around Bught Park between 6pm and 9pm to cater for the thousands of spectators who are expected to attend this event.

Drivers are urged to set off early, park in the city centre and allow themselves plenty of time to walk to the event.
