Sgioba Drama Òigridh Inbhir Nis perform drama at festival

Sgioba Drama Òigridh Inbhir Nis took part in the National Theatre Connections Festival held in Eden Court from 2nd to the 4th April, performing Mobile Phone Show, which was specially commissioned for the Festival.

The script was written in English by Jim Cartwright and ably translated into Gaelic by Eden Court Creative Theatre Arts Worker Ruairidh Nicolson.

There were 6 girls in the group which was the only Gaelic medium youth theatre out of the 8 participating groups taking part in the Festival. Ruairidh Nicolson also directed the piece which was performed with much energy, cheekiness and passion.

Dolina Grant, The Highland Council’s Gaelic Community Learning and Development Officer who is supporting Sgìoba Drama Òigridh Inbhir Nis said:  "The young people’s performance was excellent as they combined their language and acting skills in both a fun and innovative manner."
