Harry Potter Quest and Life in the Undergrowth

A weekend of Magic, Mystery and Minibeasts is being organised by Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July.

Families are invited to join in the “Harry Potter Quest” at Abriachan Forest on Saturday 15th July between 2 and 4pm. Maybe you have seen the film, or read the book, but have you tried the quest? Stretch your legs and your brain and try out your magic skills on our Hogwarts inspired activities.

Mairi Nicolson, seasonal ranger for Inverness said: “This is a fun event where families can explore the forest completing a variety of tasks that will hopefully help then graduate from the Hogwarts School of magic.  Costumes are not essential but I can’t wait to get my witches hat out.”

On Sunday 16th July, we will be exploring the School woods at Farr looking for Life in the Undergrowth.

Mairi Nicolson, seasonal ranger for Inverness said: “We will be walking around the woods stopping to explore the many habitats where minibeasts live.  It’s amazing how many weird and wonderful creatures you find if you just stop and look for them.”

Both events are organised as part of The Highland Council’s Planning and Development Services countryside events programme.  They are open to family groups and individuals, and are free to attend.  No booking is required.

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Scottish Natural Heritage with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and conserving wildlife.
