Inverness Access Guide starts to take shape

The Highland Council and Inverness Access Panel are working together with DisabledGo to produce an access guide to the area. The guide will feature detailed access information to 1,000 venues accessible to the public across Aird and Loch Ness, Inverness West, Inverness Central, Inverness Ness-side, Inverness Millburn, Culloden and Ardersier and Inverness South.

All 1,000 venues will be visited and assessed by a DisabledGo surveyor or a member of the Access Panel who will look at a whole range of accessibility features from parking to accessible toilets. The mammoth task of visiting all 1,000 venues in person is well underway. With the help of partners from the Inverness Access Panel, DisabledGo are on track to finish the surveying work right on schedule.

The guide will be available in the Autumn free of charge at http://www.disabledgo.com/ and also be featured on http://www.www.highland.gov.uk/. A shorter guide in booklet format will be produced for people who do not have access to the Internet.

Look out for some more information when DisabledGo are ready to launch the access guide with information going live on http://www.disabledgo.com/ and a launch event this Autumn.
