Conservation Day in Nairn Woods

Volunteer Wardens and Highland Council Countryside Rangers are hosting a Conservation day at a well known Nairn woodland on Wednesday 26 July. Activities include bird box building, a red squirrel trail, cutting back gorse and sycamore, the Tradespark quiz and ranger mini-guided walks.

Ranger John Orr hopes family groups and individuals will come along to find out all about Tradespark Woods and lend a hand to improve the area for wildlife and people to enjoy.

He said: "This is going to be a day full of fun with lots to learn and do about this little woodland. There are red squirrels here and lots of woodland birds. With the public's help we can make this urban woodland an even better place for wildlife."

The event will run from 1pm to 4pm and although there is no charge, places must be booked in advance by telephoning the rangers on 01463 724312.  All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are a partnership between The Highland Council and Scottish Natural Heritage with the aim of promoting public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and conserving wildlife.
