Council steps up security at Council HQ

The Highland Council is to step up security at its Inverness headquarters as the result of a recent break-in.

The Council has commissioned a security firm to patrol the building during the day and through the night to deter intruders. This will commence immediately and remain in place for the foreseeable future. Staff have also been reminded to leave no valuables in the building over the festive period.

A spokesman said: “We are examining more extensive security measures but in the meantime we have commissioned a local security firm to provide round the clock cover of the building.”
