Strong winds force suspension of Corran Ferry service

Strong prevailing winds from the south-west have forced suspension of the Corran Ferry service, which operates between Nether Lochaber and Ardgour on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

The service could not commence at 6.30 am today due to the strength of the winds and a forecast of even stronger winds is likely to see the service suspended for the rest of the day.

The public is reminded that the service will not run on Christmas Day or Boxing Day due to a scheduled holiday for staff.

The next scheduled service is from 6.30 am on Friday 27 December.

Council Service points at Acharacle and Fort Augustus did not open today (Tuesday 24 December) due to weather-related issues.
