Here be Dragons! Countryside Ranger event, 17 July

This is Dragon census year and Grantown potentially has excellent dragon habitat! Highland Countryside Rangers need help this Wednesday (17 June) to find out if there are Dragons dwelling locally, but only if participants are brave enough?

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are requesting help to discover whether these elusive creatures do really exist, and whether they are surviving in the woods around Grantown. The event runs this Wednesday, 17 June, between 2 and 4pm.

This lovely event is particularly suitable for children aged 4–10 but the Rangers ask that all children are accompanied by an adult. Please wear appropriate clothing and phone the local ranger Saranne to book and confirm places with fellow dragon hunters.

Saranne Bish, Highland Council Countryside Ranger for Badenoch & Strathspey North, says: “We’re so excited about this year’s survey of dragons – with any luck we’ll find out if we’re lucky enough to have these wild creatures living nearby!”

For further information, and to book a place on the event, please contact Saranne Bish, Highland Council Countryside Ranger, Badenoch & Strathspey North. Tel: 01479 873 914.

This event is one of 175 events that the Countryside Rangers are running during the summer. There is plenty to help occupy the school holidays! For more information, see http://www.highland.gov.uk/countrysiderangerevents.htm and for an events listing, see www.outdoorhighlands.co.uk/calendar
