Gathering in the Glen

On Friday Corinne McCallum of The Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers will be leading a guided walk for a walk in one of the most beautiful places of the Highlands. The walk will follow the path around Loch Affric which is approximately 15km.

Glen Affric is home to some the Scotland’s iconic wildlife from red deer to golden eagles and the loch shores are wooded in ancient Caledonian Pine Forest.  There are old sheilings giving a feeling of past cries from historic inhabitants and modern uses of natural resources to be discovered.

Looking forward to leading the guided walk, Corinne McCallum said: “Glen Affric is simply stunning.  There is nowhere like it.  When you walk there you are surrounded by the majesty of mountains and the gnarled old granny pines.  The landscape is just beautiful.  I love doing this walk and I hope to be able to share it.”

The walk starts in Glen Affric at 9am on Friday 31st May and will take most of the day. For more information, to book a place and for details of where to meet up please telephone Corinne on 01463 255291.
