Motorists advised of road closures on B851 Dunmaglass Bend.

The Highland Council is advising motorists of planned closures of the B851 at Dunmaglass Bend, south of Inverness between B862 Calanour junction and the Abersky Road junction. The road will be closed to through traffic to allow road widening surfacing works.

The closures will take place on Tuesday 10 June between 9am and 3pm, Tuesday 17 June between 7am and 5pm; and on Wednesday 18 June between 9am and 3pm.

On Tuesday 10 June and Wednesday 18 June an alternative route will be signposted during the closure.  Emergency vehicles and buses (service and school) will be allowed through while access to local properties will be maintained, subject to it being safe to accommodate this traffic.

On Tuesday 17 June an alternative route will be signposted during the closure.  Due to the nature of the works being carried out on this date - only emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through the closure, should the need arise.  This work is to enable asphalt reinforcement to be laid along the carriageway centreline.  The contractor will, however, try to ensure that access to local properties is maintained subject to it being safe to accommodate such traffic.
